Impacts of Climate ChangeThe effect of climate change can easily be seen in British Columbia. The melting glaciers are causing the sea level to rise and the temperature to warm. This can have major implications for Kelowna. Because, of the rising sea level, the risk of flood is prominent. This puts farmland, urban areas, industrial areas and more at risk. Also, drowning of land like tidal marshes and wildlife habitats are at risk for birds like the waterfowl and the shorebirds. There are predictions that winter will be wetter and stormier. This creates more landslides, debris flow, which can and has in the past affected the water supply.
